Actually we support PDF1.7 and earlier.

Yes. To be honest: we've direct experiences and tests on PDF files starting from 1.2.
Most of the analyzed and tested files are versioned in the range 1.4-1.7.
If you have some old 1.0 file and have any doubts, feel free to send them to us so we could do a quick check for you.
